Let's Stop Making this Simple

One hates to think of it, but there have been reports lately about items being stolen from unlocked cars in our neighborhood.

The Aiken Standard reported on December 2nd:
A Warrenville man reported on Saturday that someone removed a nine-millimeter pistol from his vehicle that was parked outside his home on Avondale Lane. The victim said he left the doors to his vehicle unlocked.
WRDW reported on November 3rd there had been several vehicle break-ins in Pleasant Pointe. Our sympathies go out to those affected by these thefts. As both reports indicate, every vehicle involved was unlocked.

There is every reason to believe these crimes are committed by people who do not live in our neighborhood.  Oxford Place, just up Pine Log Road, has had similar problems.

Certainly we all wish we lived in a time where people respect others property.  As these reports indicate, clearly we don't.

So let's stop making this simple for these miscreants.  Lock the doors to your vehicles.  And your homes.  It seems these people are after easy pickings...there is no indication they are looking for resistance.

Perhaps if they find our neighborhood is locked up, they'll move along.
